Why WordPress

Why do we use and recommend WordPress?

Just in case you are wondering why we are now specialising in WordPress development, I thought an explanation might help people considering their options for website design in Gympie.

Firstly we have been developing small business websites (mostly for Gympie Businesses) since 2000. After almost 10 years of providing stock standard HTML websites (and a couple of other scripted CMS and ECommerce sites), we discovered that nothing comes close to WordPress when it comes to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).  SEO is huge these days as everyone wants their site listed as number one in the Google search results and we have been researching various SEO methods for the last couple of years mainly through Jerry Wests’ SEO Revolution.  The thing that has become clear is that SEO is a lot of work and theat WordPress does most of the SEO work AUTOMATICALLY.

As confirmation of this, here is a presentation by Matt Cutts, (Googles’ antispam and SEO guru).

Matt did the presentation “How to do better in Google” at WordCamp San Fancisco on 26 June 2009.  Matt uses WordPress instead of Googles own blogging system “Blogger” and makes the following comments:

WordPress automatically solves a ton of SEO issues

You would be amazed at how many sites just throw up a glob of flash so we can’t even crawl it

WordPress is a fantastic piece of software and there is few things you can do to optimise it

We have undertaken considerable research and development in WordPress over the past 2 years and now offer customised Content Management Systems based on the WordPress core.  If you need a real website that does most of the SEO work for you (with our customisations and improvements), then there is no better solution that a Gympie Website WordPress System.

After all, how can you argue with someone like Matt Cutts, a senior Google Engineer when he recommends WordPress.
